The Baseus 65W PD Car Charger is the cheapest dual-USB-C car charger that actually hits 65W on one port for real laptop charging. At $25 it’s half the price of the Anker 525 67W, with one fewer port but the same peak wattage where it matters: single-device laptop top-off on a long drive.
Why two ports is enough for most drives
The Anker 525’s third port is overkill unless you routinely road-trip with 3+ devices that need charging simultaneously. For commuter use — phone in the cup holder, laptop on the passenger seat — two ports cover it. When a laptop is plugged into the 65W port, the second port still delivers 20W to a phone, which is full iPhone fast-charge speed.
The compromise
The Baseus runs hotter than the Anker under sustained load — the housing hits 48°C after 30 minutes of full-draw laptop charging, vs. 41°C on the Anker. Still within spec, but enough that you notice when you pull it out of the socket. Cheaper housing, cheaper shielding, no thermal throttling but less headroom.
Bottom line: Best 2-port car charger under $25. Buy if you only need to charge a laptop + phone on the road.
